2. What is NCC?
NCC (National Centers for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmospheric Research Corrected by Climate Research Unit) is the near-surface meteorological data with a 6-hourly time step from 1948 to 2000 and a spatial resolution of 1x1 degre.
NCC contains the following variables:
Tair (K) | Near surface air temperature at 2m |
Qair (kg kg-1) | Near surface specific humidity at 2m |
Wind (m s-1) | Near surface wind speed at 10m |
SWdown (W m-2) | Surface incident shortwave radiation |
LWdown (W m-2) | Surface incident longwave radiation |
Psurf (Pa) | Surface pressure |
Rainf (kg m-2 s-1) | Rainfall rate |
Snowf (kg m-2 s-1) | Snowfall rate |
3. Data format of NCC?
The data were saved in the netCDF format.
4. Where to download NCC?
The NCC data (about 147GB) can be downloaded from http://hydro.iis.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~thanh/NCC/
Note: due to some technical reasons, the dataset for the year 1948 is no more available. We are sorry for that.
